The SAFE HELMET INITIATIVE is a non-governmental organization founded by Mr. Rugaba Samuel following the tragic loss of Martin, a client from his barbershop, in a motorcycle accident. Witnessing the profound grief of Martin’s parents, Mr. Samuel felt compelled to take action to combat road accidents. The organization aims to raise awareness about road safety, organize safety campaigns, promote the use of helmets among motorcyclists and passengers, and support the most vulnerable victims of road accidents, all in memory of Martin.
Our mission is to promote helmet use among motorcyclists and passengers to protect against head injuries in the event of an accident. We also aim to support vulnerable road accident victims by providing wheelchairs, crutches, and assistance to hospitalized victims, while creating widespread awareness about road safety.
At Safe Helmet Initiative, our vision is to establish a training school for drivers and riders, providing comprehensive education through both practical and theoretical lessons. We believe that reducing road accidents requires skilled and professional drivers and riders.
Much of Safe Helmet Initiative’s unique strength comes from the combined power and commitment of its worldwide members and supporters. In times of crisis, Safe Helmet Initiative can call on hosts of volunteers to support their emergency response. In long-term development, and in Safe Helmet Initiative’s role as a provider of day-to-day love and hope, volunteers also make a crucial contribution.
